Choosing the right frame for your picture is very important. Once it is framed it should provide you with a lifetime of pleasure, so you want it to look the very best it can. In many cases memorabilia and textiles we frame will become special heirlooms and deserve the time it takes to choose the appropriate moulding and mount.
We can and have framed anything, Memorabilia, Football Shirts, Certificates, Paintings, Photographs, Needlework, Textiles etc., Nothing has beaten us yet!
Here are two very similar pictures, both double mounted, one has a blue inner mount and the other a yellow inner mount.
The difference is subtle but changes the overall picture in each case. In the case of these pictures any colour from the embroidery could have been used as the inner mount.
Here three little prints are shown with alternative mount colours, it gives an idea how an overall picture can change depending on the colour of its mount.
This box frame is an example of how we can make something special from your memorabilia. In this case we initially just had the medals. We asked our client if she had a photograph of the owner of the medals, we then did some research and found a picture of the type of ambulance he drove during the war. The result was a lovely family heirloom.
This box frame was created using the sailor’s original discharge papers dating from the 1860′s. With a little research they provided a complete record of his sea going career resulting in another lovely family heirloom. This one was quite large at 36″ x 30″ (We providea free research service where it would help enhance the memorabilia, no charge for this part of our service)
We don’t stop at traditional box frames, this is an example of a rather larger Box Frame containing a leather North American Indian Wedding Dress, this job was a joint effort between Lisa and Haydn due to the size and weight of the project!
This was one of a pair of Poppies we framed from the Tower of London. We designed a unique box frame, made of solid Oak, with glass on all four sides and although you cannot see it in the photograph the bottom of the glass has a border with a picture of the poppies in situ.
So come and chat to us and let us help you make your frame unique.
